I just started my life as a volunteer fire fighter and I have to make the choice sometime soon whether or not this is what I want to do for the rest of my life or if God has something other than the fire/ems service planned for me.

I have so many options along with the stress of choosing College or fire fighting. I haven’t been on many bad calls and it’s weird how God so far has protected me from seeing the things the other guys in my department have seen in the past few weeks.

We had one fatality last week and even though I didn’t go because I was with some friends and family, I wanted to be at the scene. And the funny thing is, I’m a rookie, new to all of this, so being at the scene wouldn’t have changed the outcome.

I have a lot to learn and as of now, I’m loving every moment of being a volunteer.
