I’m lfrom the Philippines. My friend asked me to join him in establishing a fire & emergency assitance group.

I really hate hot weather, why should I join? But he assured me, having good training would change my opinion. It was fun. Our first call came and we responded to it by ourselves( we didn’t have a truck back then ) to render manpower, and we did great! After the situation i was so happy and overwhelmed by how the other paid firefighters appreciated our efforts and our assistance. Most especially, by how the neighborhood was delighted, knowing there are guys like us around the corner, guys that go “in” when others go “out”, guys that never ask for even a single penny. Just a simple thanks is worth a million.

More calls followed(now we have our own truck and are affiliated with other brigades), and it was then I realized that what was fun in the beginning has turned out to be my PASSION!
